In our globalized world, international work experience (IWE) has been acknowledged as essential for leadership success. However, not everyone has equal access to it. Individuals from first-generation and lower-income backgrounds, in particular, encounter significant obstacles.
The result: Deserving individuals miss out on international career opportunities, hindering the development of diversity and inclusivity in leadership roles. We bridge this gap by providing access to international career resources, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
A 30-country, multi-industry study found positive returns on international work experience in terms of employability, career and financial success.
Growing up unequally leads to a difference in access to information about high-quality jobs, which is especially needed in our increasingly digital world.
It is no secret that mentoring is key to a successful career, so how come all professionals do not have access to it?
We aim to build a digital community that transcends physical borders where individuals can obtain mentorship and a support system from like-minded professionals who also aim to or are already working abroad.
This community will facilitate access to international work experiences for individuals from first-generation and low-income backgrounds, and in doing so, will be a step towards addressing inequity and fostering diversity in leadership roles.
